Cooee Busways recognised as ABA100 winner in two categories

Cooee Busways has been recognised as an ABA100 Winner in The Australian Business Awards 2020, operated in partnership with Transport for NSW, Busways, and Via. The two awards are for New Service Innovation and CX Management.

Cooee Busways celebrates one year in service

Our on-demand public transport service Cooee Busways: The Ponds is celebrating one year in service! In partnership with Transport for NSW and Via, the on-demand service was developed as a way for people to connect with Metro and rail quickly, safely, and efficiently at a time that suits them.

As the fastest growing first and last mile service in Australia, Cooee Busways has connected residents from The Ponds and Schofields area, with over 95,000 rides in the past year with 97.2% of demand met. Via labelled Cooee Busways one of their fastest growing on demand services worldwide!

We’d like to especially thank our friendly and engaging Cooee bus drivers who provide a quality and safe service every day, leaving our customers feeling impressed and comfortable with their transport choice.

Cooee Busways welcomes 100,000th customer

Cooee Busways has welcomed its 100,000th passenger on board just after one year in service!

This is a huge achievement for the on-demand service and the Cooee Busways team – Transport for NSW, Busways, and Via, who collaboratively work to deliver the service.

We thank our customers for their continued support. Each Cooee bus is equipped with hand sanitiser and social distancing decals. If you’re in western Sydney and do need to travel during this time, we look forward to seeing you on board soon.

Cooee Busways supports customers through COVID-19

The COVID-19 crisis is a difficult time for everyone which is why Busways is here to help its customers, providing essential bus services for those that have no other way to access essential items such as food or services such as medical centres.

We’ve added a new Hub to our Western Sydney on demand service, Cooee Busways, to ensure we’re doing our part to help the community reach important destinations when they may have no other means of travel. Customers can book their On Demand public transport service between 8am and 9pm to Stanhope Village Shopping Centre.

Busways also reminds customers to keep a safe 1.5 metres distance on all services to ensure we’re keeping our bus drivers and other passengers healthy during the pandemic.

New hub added to Cooee Busways

Cooee Busways passengers can now travel from home to The Ponds Shopping Centre and vice versa between 9am and 9pm. Book your trip via the Cooee Busways smartphone app.

Opal Connect: Next generation transport payments platform

The way customers plan, book and pay for transport is rapidly evolving, with Transport for NSW launching an innovative new digital payment platform – Opal Connect.

Opal Connect is a new ticketing solution that aims to provide an integrated and convenient experience for customers through on trusted digital account.

Customers who use On Demand services such as Cooee Busways who sign up to Opal Connect will receive a $2 travel credit each time they transfer to Opal services like the bus, train or Metro. They can then use that travel credit to go towards future On Demand bookings.

Customers can create an account via the transportnsw.info website and then securely link their Opal card and their credit or debit card.
